Betina Gozo - Nike Global Trainer and creator/author of Women’s Health Magazine's Woman's Guide to Strength Training - is a top industry leader as a fitness professional with a focus/emphasis on strength training. Her #1 goal is to use fitness and training to inspire people to make positive lifestyle changes so they can live their most optimal life and most importantly: feel good. She is also the co-host of the newly released lifestyle podcast Beyond the Routine, alongside her husband Nic.

Betina's Career

As a Nike Global Trainer since 2013, Betina has been featured on the Nike Training Club App and major campaigns, and has been an advisor for Nike marketing content since then. You can often find her leading inspirational workouts online and bringing energy to live events throughout the World. As the winner of Women's Health Magazine's 2017 "Next Fitness Star," Betina has created the “Woman’s Guide to Strength Training”, a 12 week training plan designed specifically for women to find confidence in lifting weights, in partnership with the magazine, and currently serves on the magazine's Advisory Board. From killer workouts to tips on how to navigate the weight room, Betina shares her expertise to help you get the most out of your resistance workouts. She was one of the founding strength & core team members of Apple Fitness+, where she shared her journey of pregnancy and postpartum releasing two programs for Pregnant and Postpartum Women. After being part of the launch of the service in 2020, she decided to part ways with the team in September 2022 to pursue other opportunities and go back to working with Nike. She has traveled the world, leading workouts for live audiences up to thousands of people and empowering and connecting women through her Women's Only Strength Training Workshops or Women's Strength Training Camps. Betina’s newest book, Women’s Muscle & Strength: Get Lean, Strong & Confident (Publisher: Human Kinetics) was released January 2024.

Generosity and altruism has always been a big part of who Betina is. Her mother was a nurse and encouraged her to volunteer at nursing homes at a young age. She has fond memories of visiting residents in their rooms and playing games, serving meals, and even playing guitar for them. When she was 18 years old, she moved in with her friend Annie, who had Spinal Muscular Atrophy, and became her live-in care giver. She helped with all of Annie’s day to day needs from showering, brushing teeth, cooking, and more. Since having a glimpse of life with a disability through the lens of Annie (and her brother Stevie, who also has SMA), Betina became a big advocate for disability awareness. She has partnered with the Challenged Athlete’s Foundation and Paralympian Scout Basset leading workouts for adaptive athletes and weekend warriors alike. She has made frequent visits to Kenya, organizing traveling volunteers and projects to benefit families and schools of children with disabilities.
